Specialized Oncology Nurses & Trained RMOs

Chemotherapy, targeted therapies, and biological immunotherapies are specialized medications that require meticulous administration, rapid recognition of side effects, and strict safety protocols. At PCRI, clinical excellence is driven by our team of Certified Oncology Nurses, full-time Resident Medical Officers (RMOs), and dedicated clinical support staff.

Chemotherapy-Certified Oncology Nurses

Our nursing staff undergoes rigorous oncology training and continuing education in evidence-based cancer nursing:

  • Cytotoxic Drug Handling: Trained in strict biosafety guidelines for medication reconstitution, spill protection, and zero-contamination protocols.
  • Chemoport & PICC Line Expertise: Specialized in aseptic Huber needle insertions, blood withdrawals, heparin flushes, and central line dressing changes with an exemplary zero-infection safety record.
  • Extravasation Prevention: Expert vigilance in monitoring peripheral veins and central lines to prevent drug leakage into surrounding tissues.
  • Premedication & Hypersensitivity Management: Early detection and swift medical intervention for allergic reactions, infusion chills, or acute nausea.

Full-Time Resident Medical Officers (RMOs)

Unlike centres that operate without continuous on-site physician presence, PCRI guarantees full-time trained RMOs on the clinical floor throughout all operational hours:

  • Conduct immediate clinical evaluations of baseline vitals, lab reports, and current patient symptoms.
  • Directly liaise with treating Consultant Oncologists (Dr. Anshul Agrawal and Dr. Dhruv Mehta) for treatment protocol adjustments.
  • Provide immediate physician-level response for acute symptom management, pain control, or emergency resuscitation if required.

Compassionate, Patient-Centered Support

Cancer care requires emotional sensitivity as much as medical precision. Our nursing and RMO team treats every patient with warmth, patience, and dignity — addressing patient fears, educating families on home care, and walking alongside patients throughout their healing journey.
