Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT), commonly referred to as Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT), is a definitive curative treatment for multiple life-threatening hematological cancers and bone marrow disorders. Precision Cancer Research Institute (PCRI) provides comprehensive pre-transplant workup, donor identification, conditioning therapy oversight, and post-transplant long-term clinical care across all three major transplant categories.
The patient's own healthy peripheral blood stem cells are mobilized (using G-CSF/Plerixafor), harvested via apheresis, and cryopreserved. The patient then receives curative high-dose conditioning chemotherapy to eradicate residual microscopic malignancy, followed by re-infusion of their stored stem cells to rescue healthy bone marrow hematopoiesis. Primarily indicated for Multiple Myeloma, relapsed Hodgkin's Lymphoma, and Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (NHL).
When an HLA-matched sibling donor is unavailable, PCRI facilitates high-resolution molecular HLA typing and coordinated searches across national and international marrow donor registries (including DATRI, DKMS, and NMDP) to secure a 10/10 or 9/10 matched volunteer donor.
A revolutionary advancement in modern BMT that removes the barrier of donor availability. Using advanced Post-Transplant Cyclophosphamide (PTCy) protocols, any first-degree family relative — parents, siblings, or biological children — who shares a 50% HLA match can serve as an immediate, life-saving donor.
